Delays Caused by Customs

Refused Shipments

If a customer refuses to accept a shipment due to customs duties, import taxes, or similar charges, the shipment may be returned by the carrier.

Any refund request for a refused shipment will only be considered after:

  • the shipment has been successfully returned; and

  • the returned goods have been received and inspected, where applicable.

Where permitted by applicable law, Sofie London reserves the right to deduct from any refund any costs incurred as a result of the refused shipment, including but not limited to:

  • shipping costs;

  • return shipping costs;

  • carrier handling fees;

  • other costs resulting from the refused delivery.

If the shipment cannot be returned or is destroyed by customs or the carrier due to refusal, a refund may not be possible.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.

Sofie London is not responsible for additional customs costs, delays, or delivery issues resulting from inaccurate or incomplete shipping information supplied by the customer.

Compliance with Local Laws

Customers are responsible for ensuring that products ordered from Sofie London comply with the import laws and regulations of their destination country.

If local authorities prohibit or restrict the import of certain products, Sofie London cannot be held responsible for any resulting delays, seizures, or additional costs.
